John Michael Walker

John Michael Walker is a tenor, teacher, and scholar based in Hartford, Connecticut. He received his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Mississippi and his Master of Music in Music History from The Hartt School.

 

As an educator, John Michael strives to instill a passion for music and learning regardless of the student’s background. He has broad experience singing opera, musical theatre, jazz, popular music, and sacred music, and can tailor-fit his teaching for his student’s stylistic interests.

 

In the studio, John Michael teaches music from the bottom up, helping the student to develop aural skills, expand knowledge of music history and theory, and prepare for auditions. Singers at any level can expect a fun, safe environment to grow as both a confident performer and a well-rounded musician.
