Oscar Godoy

Instructor

Oscar began his study in Jazz attending the Academy of the arts high school in Hartford. After graduating he then received a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies/Performance from Western Connecticut State University. (14 years of studying, teaching, and performing.)

 

He is an avid educator currently teaching privately and within studios around Connecticut. Oscar has had the opportunity of working with mentors such as Chris Morrison, Doug Maher, Jimmy Greene, and Kenny Wessel.

Although Jazz is his primary study, Oscar is involved in other projects performing Singer-songwriter, Rock, Indie, and Improvisational music. Oscar’s work and practice are strongly influenced by Jazz.

 

As an artist, Oscar is pursuing his passion for performing and teaching. Oscar aspires to share his music and education to others in hopes of providing an expressive outlet within communities. Oscar enjoys student development, music therapy, and the relationship between music and life experiences.
